• Installation strategies (Value engineering)
• Boiler selection
• Near-boiler piping design
• Zoning
• Mixing options
• Hybrid systems
• Climate Cŏntrol Line overview

Geothermal Design and Application (2 Days)

This course offers design and installation methods for incorporating geothermal heat sources into hydronic radiant systems. Training will include information about ground-source heat pumps, design issues and geothermal system types. Participants should have a basic knowledge of hydronic heating systems.

This course will include:

• Geothermal process overview
• Economic and environmental benefits
• System design (open loop, closed loop)
• Equipment selection
• Geothermal sizing
• Installation
• Maintenance
• Troubleshooting

Climate Controls (2 Days)

This course is ideal for contractors seeking to deepen their understanding of Uponor radiant system controls. Participants will learn advanced radiant design considerations as well as participate in Uponor’s hands-on laboratory, learning to wire and program the Climate Cŏntrol Multifunction Controller, Climate Cŏntrol Zoning System and proPANEL® series.

This course will include:

• Climate Cŏntrol Multifunction Controller (system adaptive control)
• Climate Cŏntrol Zoning System (wireless control)
• proPANEL (near-boiler piping made easy)
• Advanced radiant design
• Sequence of operation
• Components review and operation
• System installation
• System programming
• Hands-on laboratory

Climate Cŏntrol Network System (2½ Days)

This course is intended for the contractor requiring a smart solution for complete radiant and HVAC system integration and control. The Climate Cŏntrol Network System simplifies installation, programming and system start up. Contractors will learn the theory of operation along with web-based programming, all in a hands-on laboratory setting.

This course will include:

• Sequence of operation
• Components review and operation
• System installation
• System programming
• Remote access programming
• Hands-on laboratory

Advanced Design Suite™ (1 Day)

This course is designed for contractors seeking to deepen their understanding of radiant system design through the use of Uponor’s Advanced Design Suite™ (ADS) software. This class concentrates on whole-house radiant system design, offering methods to simplify and economize radiant systems while also enhancing their performance. Attendees will work with a laptop computer (provided) and a set of radiant blueprints to design a complete radiant system.

This course will include:

• Radiant system design
• Heat-loss calculations
• Advanced zoning options
• Computer laboratory

AquaSAFE™ Levels I and II (2 Days)

This course is designed for the plumbing professional interested in Uponor AquaSAFE multipurpose fire sprinkler systems. Participants will review installation guidelines for installing AquaSAFE in one- and two- family dwellings and manufactured homes according to NFPA 13D guidelines.

This course will include:

• Multipurpose system design
• Installation
• Sprinkler spacing
• Obstruction rules
• Code interpretation
• Troubleshooting
• AquaSAFE certification test (passing grade 70%)

AquaSAFE Level II (1 Day)

This course offers on-the-job experience to plumbing professionals interested in proper installation of AquaSAFE residential fire sprinkler systems. Participants will be given a set of plans to lay out an AquaSAFE system from start to finish.

This course will include:

• Looped and Network systems
• Site plan review
• Sprinkler head placement
• Piping layout considerations
• Flow testing
